New Testament Healing -Week 1
Subject: “As Your Soul Prospers”
April 25, 2007
Worship, word, interaction. People will be completely healed. Will bring us to a proint of divine health. Better to shoot at the moon and miss it than to shoot at the ceiling and hit it every time.
About getting the manifestation.
3 John 1:2 (NKJV)
2Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
It’s all about changing our belief system. The only thing separating us from divine health is the prosperity of our souls.
Is our soul in agreement with the word of God? Anything less is a picture of the condition of my soul. The physical always represents the condition of our soul.
You can only prosper and be in health as your soul prospers.
Mike is speaking out of 32 years of experience.
Rom 12:1-2 “mercy” implies God is speaking to the guilty.
Rom. 12:1 through Rom. 12:2 (NKJV) 1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
V1 He has taken our works out of the equation. (Jesus never healed any believers.) But, we try to get God to move in our lives by works. His mercy is all we have. Present your body a living sacrifice. . . .
Holy = set apart from poverty to the abundant life.
Holiness is that position; occupy that position.
He has called us to divine health. He has defined a living sacrifice for us: to present our body a living sacrifice is just a logical response—it is “Thank you!”
V2 we don’t need to accept what the world calls normal.
Transformed = metamorphosis, changed like a caterpillar into a butterfly. Changed into Christ by the renewing of your mind.
The renewed mind will show to be true through experience the good and acceptable and perfect will of God which is Christ’s finished work.
The renewing of the mind.
There are two minds that need to be renewed: the individual mind and the corporate mind. The corporate mind speaks powerfully to individual minds. Think more deeply about renewing the mind. The mind renewal speaks to the subconscious also. It was there when you were very young (even in the womb). That may be affecting your thinking. When the corporate mind is contaminated it is more difficult for the individual to find its way into renewal. Erroneous teaching says to fast, confess your sins, etc. But, when the corporate mind is true, it becomes and advantage for the individual. There are people here that are saying, “Why not [fast and confess your sins]?”, and that affects this fellowship.
At one time Mike and Marilyn prayed for the sick and couldn’t get even colds healed. The Lord told them to create an atmosphere of faith.
Rom. 12:10 through Rom. 12:13 (NKJV) 10Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
Experience produces hope.
Faith gives substance to the things hoped for.
Heb. 11:1 (NKJV) 1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
How you hear. . .
Luke 8:18 (NKJV) 18Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.”
Mark 4:24 through Mark 4:25 (NKJV) 24Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. 25For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
Measured to you and more besides (both belief and unbelief). He didn’t say how and what you read. How and what you hear will affect what you believe; they will affect your devotional hearing. We have many traditional mindsets. For example, Campus Crusades believes baptism of the Holy Spirit happens when one is born again. And we think we can sit in on an atmosphere of unbelief and pick and choose what we accept. We are mistaken when we think we can reject things we see and hear. We think we can thrive in an atmosphere of contamination.
Mark 4:26 through Mark 4:29 (NKJV) 26And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
The seed is any word; in this parable it is the word of God. The earth produces crops all by itself while the farmer sleeps. It’s good if it’s the word of God; it’s not good if it’s something else.
Prov. 18:8 (NKJV) 8The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles,
And they go down into the inmost body.
We take what we heard and how we heard, we pull it through a filter so we have a diluted version of it.
If I’m not free, I’m deceived. If the truth is what sets you free, it’s deception that puts you in bondage.
Matt. 7:6 (NKJV) 6“Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.
Do not cast your pearls before swine (unbelievers). Any unbelieving opinion has the potential to tear you away from your vision.
We are potentially affected by unbelief around us. We can’t be reading medical dictionaries. We need to protect ourselves spiritually.
Question: If you get prayed for but don’t get manifestation, is it unbelief to ask for prayer again?
Answer:
You can’t overdose on prayer.
